Alexandre Dumas is one of the most popular and prolific 19th century French writers. His works have been translated into many languages, and he is one of the most widely read French authors. From plays to fairy tales to historic and adventure novels, Dumas left behind a formidable body of work totaling roughly 100,000 pages. His best-known works, such as the Musketeers Trilogy, Count of Monte Cristo, and Queen Margot are widely read to this day and had inspired over 200 films.
